LOCATION: Oludeniz is reached
after a steep mountain decent approximately 5 km (3.1 miles)
to the south of the villages of Hisaronu and Ovacik. On
reaching the beach area Oludeniz and resort area lies to the
left and to the right is the famous lagoon.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Oludeniz one of Turkey's most famous
and photographed beaches adorning many travel magazines and brochures, with crystal
clear turquoise waters and gentle lapping waves, where the line between sea and
sky blend into one.
At the far end of the beach to the right you will find
the 'lagoon' set inside a national park area. Not
visible from the open sea the lagoon is very sheltered with
still, warm waters. Mother nature's finishing touch
was to surround this heaven on earth with a spectacular
mountain and pine forest backdrop.
The main resort and hotels are restricted to
an area to the left on reaching the
beach area and stretch back about 1 km from the beach, there
are however some camps sites dotted around the lagoon area.
BEACHES: The main beach area of
Oludeniz is an open free beach, entry to the lagoon area
however is by payment. You can expect crowded beaches during
the height of the summer months. The lagoon area is
very safe for bathing as the waters are very calm and there
are many sandy areas.
Further along from Oludeniz is another beach
called 'Kudrak' (Paradise beach) quiet and secluded with a
woodland area perfect for picnics.
SHOPPING: During the summer
months many well stocked mini-markets, gift shops, and many
bars, cafes and restaurants offering both local and
international cuisine catering for every taste. There is a local market on
Mondays in Hisaronu just off the main Hisaronu/Oludeniz roundabout where
you will find many bargains, there is also a fresh vegetable
and fruit market.
ENTERTAINMENT: Daytime -a good selection of local
trips and excursions including local island boat trips, jeep safari
(from Fethiye) horse riding through
the mountains and forests to Kaya Koy (Ghost
village from Ovacik) and for the more adventurous paragliding from Babadag mountain or
Micro lighting (from Ovacik) and some water sports are available at Oludeniz.
Nightlife - Oludeniz comes alive after dark with its many
gift shops, lively bars, some with live entertainment and of course many
restaurants catering for every taste. Some hotels during the summer season
offer 'Turkish Nights' and traditional entertainment.

surrounding areas. Car, motor scooter and bicycle hire are all
